Community Basketball

Giving back to the basketball community is at the centre of everything we do at Aspire. Since our establishment we have been involved in award winning community projects, created affordable and sometimes free spaces for the local community to play basketball and been recognised by the police for our efforts in reducing anti social behaviour.

Stop Knife Crime Initiative

Following COVID-19, Stop Knife Crime organised a fantastic event in the community that brought everyone together, all ages and walks of life, to show their support. Using basketball as a pull we managed to structure a wonderful tournament celebrating unity and taking a stand against knife crime. Watch this space for future collaborations...

Active Suffolk Award Winners 2024

In the summer of 2024, we collaborated with Sport Sense and Community Praxis to bring free and fun basketball sessions to the local community for the duration of the summer. We averaged over 20 children per session ranging from 4 up to 18. Creating this routined safe space saw a massive drop in anti-social behaviour in the area as noted by the Suffolk Constabulary, and led to our nomination with Active Suffolk and eventual win!
